In February of 2011, Ryan and his wife Katy felt called to join Chipper and Kristen as they prepared to plant City Church. Ryan joined forces with Chipper primarily because of Ryan's desire to see City Church reach students at the University of Florida and Santa Fe and help them grow in Christ and in their understanding of what it means to be a healthy member of a local church. Ryan believes that "authentic community" (see City Church's tagline) involves people from all walks of life obediently pursuing and enjoying community together.
Ryan grew up in Panama City, Florida before moving to Gainesville and graduating with a bachelor's degree in business (management) from the University of Florida. He then moved to Chicago to study at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). While at TEDS, Ryan married his wife Katy (they met while students at the University of Florida) and graduated with master of divinity degree (M.Div.). They have one daughter (Lydia).
Ryan served on the staff of Evanston Bible Fellowship (EFCA) in Evanston, IL from 2010-2012. He also served on the staff of Creekside Community Church (EFCA) in Gainesville, FL from 2012-2013.
Ryan's interests include spending time with his wife, reading, and watching Gator sports.
