Important Information about Hurricane Matthew

City Church Family – please read and consider these important notes about Hurricane Matthew

  • Above all – let’s be praying for everyone in the path of this storm, and for those in the Caribbean dealing with the devastating impact of the storm that has already claimed over 100 lives. Know that I am praying for you this afternoon, even as I write this.
  • All Friday (10/7) church events - including the Live2Lead event - have been postponed (Live2Lead rescheduled for November 4).
  • If you feel like your residence is in danger because of this storm (most likely from trees or flooding) and need alternate housing tonight and/or tomorrow – there’s space available at the Easton Sports Complex in Newberry. If that option does not work well for you – call the church at 352-587-2144 and we can discuss other options.
  • We still plan on having our Sunday morning service at 10am. In the event that we lose power in our building and it is still not available by Sunday morning, we will keep you posted on our website and social media about our plans.
  • Stock up on water and non-perishable food (and batteries for flashlights and other artificial lighting!) if you haven’t done so already. We need to be prepared for several days of power outages, although hopefully that won’t happen!
  • Remember Psalm 34:4 – “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.\

I love you all. May God be with you the next couple of days as the storm passes.

- Chipper
